| Springboard®
is a non-profit consumer credit management
organization formed in 1974 by local
business leaders and credit grantors.
Our mission is simple: To offer education
on the wise use of credit and to serve
as an alternative to bankruptcy. We
are members of the National Foundation
for Credit Counseling (NFCC), established
in 1951. NFCC membership guarantees
that we will adhere to high standards
of service delivery, counselor certification,
fiscal integrity, and volunteer
Board governance.
All services offered by Springboard®,
including credit, debt and housing
counseling
and our Debt Management Plan, are
available to any family or individual
regardless of race, creed, gender
or income.
About
Us: Our Identity
Our Corporate Identity
A few years ago, we changed our
name to Springboard® to reflect our
national presence. We are also known
as Consumer Credit Counseling Service
of the Inland Empire.
Name Change FAQs:
Q. Why did you change your
name?
As a non-profit consumer
credit management source, our agency
selected the new name to represent
the concept of hope and empowerment
to consumers with debt problems,
and because the phrase "Consumer
Credit Counseling Service" has
become generic.
Q. Will you change any
of your other company names?
SPRINGBOARD's corporate renaming
campaign includes all of its Southern
California subsidiaries, which formerly
operated as Credit Counselors of
California in San Diego County and
Money Management International in
Los Angeles and Orange Counties.
Q. What made you decide
to change your name?
We wanted a name that would differentiate
us from the multitude of "look-alikes"
out there that do not provide our
kind of quality service. We wanted
a name that consumers could identify
with, and we wanted to reflect our
own separated identity.
SPRINGBOARD® was ultimately
selected after a very intensive
search because it is unique and
reflects the concept of moving from
one place to another with an upward
motion, launching consumers into
a better future.
Q. Are you still members
of the National Foundation for Credit
Counseling?
Yes we are. We are still a member
of the National Foundation for Credit
Counseling (NFCC) and we adhere
to their policies and standards.
Q. Are you an accredited
agency?
We are accredited by the Council
on Accreditation (COA). Accreditation
means that you are working with
a quality agency.
Q. Did you ask your clients
about this?
We asked our clients at focus groups
what they wanted to accomplish when
they first came to us. They told
us they wanted to get out of debt,
learn to use money and credit wisely,
and to change the shape of their
future.
